NAFEMS is the International Association for the Engineering Modelling, Analysis and Simulation Community. We are a not-for-profit organisation, established in 1983, focused on the practical application of numerical engineering simulation, including finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and multibody simulation.

  • 1983Year NAFEMS was established
  • 30,000+Engineers, designers and analysts in membership
  • Not-for-profitIndependent, with no commercial bias
  • ISO 9001Certified quality management

Our aims

Who we serve

In addition to end users from every industry sector, our stakeholders include technology providers, researchers and academics. NAFEMS is relevant to:

  • Engineers and analysts who use simulation tools in their work
  • Technology developers and software providers
  • Academics and researchers in numerical simulation
  • Engineering managers who oversee simulation projects
  • Organisations that want to improve simulation quality and keep up with best practice

Our priorities

The NAFEMS Council of Management sets priority goals so that we keep evolving and better fulfil our aims. These include:

  • Increasing our global reach
  • Enlarging our technological breadth
  • Strengthening our provision of simulation training and extending the training material available
  • Publishing up-to-date, practical simulation cases of real value to simulation engineers
  • Expanding the information available on different simulation techniques and tools
  • Developing services for the exchange of simulation knowledge between specialists worldwide
  • Improving our interaction with member companies and reaching more individuals within them

NAFEMS and EMAS

Engineering Modelling, Analysis & Simulation (EMAS) is the NAFEMS journal, an open-access publication that showcases the latest advancements, research and novel applications of engineering simulation. Read the About the Journal page, or see how to submit your work.
